Darla Mallory graduates from Murray State University

MURRAY, Ky. — Darla Mallory from Dresden, TN has graduated from Murray State University with a Master of
Arts in Postsecondary Education Administration and certificates in Higher Education Management and Student
Affairs.
Darla Mallory is the daughter of Claude and Donna Mallory.
During her time in graduate school, Darla served as an ambassador for the Southern Association for College
Student Affairs (SACSA). She worked as a Graduate Assistant in Career Services at Murray State and as a substitute
teacher in local area school districts. Darla completed a 150-hour internship with Murray State’s athletics
department (student support services unit), creating a comprehensive content guide and workshop series aimed at
helping 385 student-athletes enhance their study skills for college-level coursework. In her current position as a
Health Career Coordinator, Darla has traveled over 2,400 miles speaking to over 400 students in middle and high
schools about the importance of higher education & rural health. Darla currently serves on four (4) different
advisory boards for health science and CTE programs. She plans to continue advocating for access to healthcare
and equipping students with the tools and resources needed to be successful in their postsecondary and career
endeavors.
Murray State University hosted commencement ceremonies for fall 2023 graduates on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the CFSB
Center.
A total of 739 degree applicants from 25 states and 13 countries comprised the graduating class including doctoral,
specialist, master’s, baccalaureate and associate degrees.
