Railroaders holding onto number-two slot in OVL

The Fulton Railroaders are holding the number-two slot in the South Division of the Ohio Valley League made up of collegiate-level teams. Team members include Westview High School graduate, now UT Martin Skyhawk baseball player, Garner Anderson, as well as another UTM Skyhawk baseball player Bennett Detrude. Players from as far as California travel to Lohaus Field in Fulton, Ky., to play for Westview HS baseball coach Scott Guymon, who now owns the Railroaders baseball team.

Tuesday, June 27 - Game #2 - Railroaders @ Clarksville

Clarksville WhirlyBirdz Overcomes Fulton Railroaders in Face of Early 4-Run Inning

Clarksville WhirlyBirdz weathered a push by Fulton Railroaders in the first inning where Clarksville WhirlyBirdz coughed up four runs, but Clarksville WhirlyBirdz still won 6-5 on Tuesday. The big inning for Fulton Railroaders came thanks to a walk by Tasso Foster and a single by Jackson Garrett.

Fulton Railroaders got on the board in the first inning when Foster drew a walk, scoring one run.

Marshall Robinson pitched Clarksville WhirlyBirdz to victory. The southpaw lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Jonathan Tate took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The hurler allowed three hits and one run over one inning, walking one. Eli Prince started the game for Fulton Railroaders. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out six.

Garrett went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Fulton Railroaders in hits.

Tuesday, June 27 - Game #1 - Railroaders @ Clarksville

Clarksville WhirlyBirdz Claims Blow-Out Victory Over Fulton Railroaders, 22-3

Clarksville WhirlyBirdz had everything working on Tuesday, winning big over Fulton Railroaders 22-3 Fulton Railroaders got things started in the first inning. An error scored one run for Fulton Railroaders.

Clarksville WhirlyBirdz notched ten runs in the fifth inning. 

Giffen Paige took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The bulldog surrendered six runs on seven hits over two innings, striking out one.

Tasso Foster led Fulton Railroaders with three hits in four at bats.

Sunday, June 25 - Railroaders vs. Dubois Bombers

Fulton Railroaders Takes The Win Over Dubois County Bombers

Fulton Railroaders beat Dubois County Bombers 6-1 on Sunday.

Fulton Railroaders got things started in the second inning. Jaxson Norris hit a solo homer.

Fulton Railroaders scored four runs in the fifth inning. Norris and Andrew Reed each had RBIs in the big inning.

Brady Mallow took the win for Fulton Railroaders. The pitcher went six innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out five.

Fulton Railroaders tallied two home run on the day. Norris went for the long ball in the second and fifth innings.

Norris went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Fulton Railroaders in hits. Fulton Railroaders didn't commit a single error in the field. Jimmy Manzella had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

Saturday, June 24 - Railroaders @ Full Count

Full Count Rhythm Clinches Lead in Seventh Inning for Victory over Fulton Railroaders

Full Count Rhythm took the lead late in the game in a 9-3 victory over Fulton Railroaders on Saturday. Full Count Rhythm trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Henry Jackson doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Giffen Paige took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The hurler went one inning, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out one.

Jack Hagen started the game for Fulton Railroaders. The pitcher went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out six and walking one. 

Charlie Ferbet went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Fulton Railroaders in hits.

Friday, June 23 - Railroaders vs. Full Count

Fulton Railroaders Clinches Lead in Eighth Inning to Defeat Full Count Rhythm

Fulton Railroaders nabbed the lead late in the game in a 2-1 victory over Full Count Rhythm on Friday. The game was tied at one with Fulton Railroaders batting in the bottom of the eighth when Tanner Carranza hit a solo homer.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Fulton Railroaders pitchers struck out seven, while Full Count Rhythm pitchers sat down six.

Carter Davis earned the win for Fulton Railroaders. The bulldog lasted one inning, allowing three hits and one run while walking zero. Logan Wilsker and Giffen Paige entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Paige recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Fulton Railroaders.

Jonathan Tate started the game for Fulton Railroaders. The pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five Tyler Cruse started the game for Full Count Rhythm. The lefty lasted four innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out five and walking one

Fulton Railroaders socked one home run on the day. Carranza had a four bagger in the eighth inning.

Aiden Gibson, Carranza, and Tasso Foster each collected one hit to lead Fulton Railroaders.

Thursday, June 22 - Railroaders vs. Dubois Bombers

Fulton Railroaders Fall Short to Dubois County Bombers, 5-4

In the second inning, Fulton Railroaders got their offense started when an error scored one run for Fulton Railroaders.

Dubois County Bombers knotted the game up at four in the top of the seventh inning, when Brevin Brisack hit a solo homer.

Diego Dugue took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The hurler allowed zero hits and one run over one inning, walking zero.

Angel Brodel started the game for Fulton Railroaders. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out one. 

Fulton Railroaders launched two home runs on the day. Tasso Foster had a dinger in the third inning. Jaxson Norris had a long ball in the fourth inning.

Fulton Railroaders had eight hits in the game. Norris, Jackson Garrett, and Foster each had multiple hits for Fulton Railroaders. Norris went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Fulton Railroaders in hits.

Wednesday, June 21 - Railroaders vs. Louisville

Fulton Railroaders Can't Catch Up to Louisville Jockeys

Fulton Railroaders fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 6-2 loss to Louisville Jockeys on Wednesday. Fulton Railroaders lost despite out-hitting Louisville Jockeys 12 to 10.

Angel Larranza took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out four and walking one.

Fulton Railroaders racked up 12 hits in the game. Charlie Ferbet, Garner Anderson, Jimmy Manzella, and Jackson Garrett each had multiple hits for Fulton Railroaders. Anderson and Ferbet each collected three hits to lead the Fulton Railroaders.

The Railroaders squared up against the Paducah Chiefs at Lohaus Field Wednesday. Game stats were not available at press time. The team travels to take on the Muhlenberg County Stallions tonight (Thursday). Game time is at 7:05 p.m.

Fulton hosts the Louisville Jockeys Friday night and Muhlenberg County Stallions Saturday night at Lohaus Field in Fulton at 6:30 p.m.

The Henderson Flash travels to Fulton on Sunday night to take on the Railroaders at 6:30. The Railroaders will have Monday off as they prepare for their game on July 4th at home.

Thanks to a sponsorship by the Fulton Tourism agency, the first 300 guests to the game on Independence Day at Lohaus Field will receive free admission. After the game, fans in attendance are invited to grab their lawn chairs and blankets and sit out on the field to watch the City of Fulton fireworks display.
