Betty Jo Davis 1949-2024

Betty Jo McCutchen Davis, 75, of Martin passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at her home.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at East View Cemetery. Lee Moses will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Keith Davis, Kevin Davis, Brett Scillion, Kevin Scillion and David Crockett.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.

Betty Jo was born March 29, 1949, in Union City, daughter of the late Clyde Keenan McCutchen and the late Ruth (Forbis) McCutchen Yates. She married Jimmy M. Davis August 5, 1966. He preceded her in death March 18, 1999. Betty Jo attended the former Rives School first thru eighth grades and graduated from Obion County Central High School. She was a substitute teacher at Ridgemont Elementary for twenty-one years and was a homemaker. Betty Jo didn't like to cook or clean house but loved to travel the United States. She was a member of Berea Church of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter, Lesa Davis Scillion and husband Kevin of Rives; two sons, Keith Davis and Kevin Davis both of Martin; three grandchildren, Brett Scillion and wife Haley of Martin and MiKayla Scillion and Olivia Davis both of Nashville; one great-grandson, James Mack Scillion of Martin; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Mowery and husband Ted of Johnson City and Pat McCutchen of Mayfield, Kentucky; one nephew, David Crockett and wife MeLissa of Johnson City; one niece, Angela McAuley and husband John of Monroe, North Carolina; and her special friends, Paula Webb, Tommy and Mary Ann Carpenter and Tommy and Betty Craft.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Wilson McCutchen.
