Ruby Brundige 1927 - 2024

Ruby Swafford Brundige, age 96, of Martin passed away on November 1st at Greenbrier Meadows in Martin, TN.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11:00 at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at East Side Cemetery in Martin.

Pallbearers are Randy Brundige, James Tuck, Mark O’Leary, Dan O’Leary, Jackson Priddy and Austin Reed.  Honorary Pallbearer is Howard Graham Swafford, Jr

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold T Brundige; her parents, Ida Graham Swafford and John Aaron Swafford of South Pittsburgh, TN and her granddaughter, Rebecca Louise Brundige.  Loving mother of John D. Brundige (Julia) Betsy Priddy (Chris) of Franklin, TN, William R. Brundige (Teresa). Grandchildren Bonnie Brundige (Steve Vowell) Christina Priddy Reed (Austin), Parker Priddy (Saige) & Jackson Priddy (Kelsey). Great Grandchildren, Marianne and Eli Moore of Martin and James, Roman, Brynlee and Bo Reed of Monticello, IL. Other family members include Chad Connell, Melinda and Jamie Roney and children Max, Maddox and Maggie King,Scarlett and Connell Roney and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a son, Harold T. Brundige, Jr of Memphis, two brothers, Howard Graham Swafford, Sr (Claude) of Jasper, TN, John Aaron Swafford, Jr (Wanda) of South Pittsburgh, TN.  Sisters Geneva Pomeroy (George) of Glendale, Ohio. Rosa Lee Pancoast, Wyoming, OH, Ruth O’Leary (twin) (Bill) of South Pittsburg, TN.    

Ruby and Harold were faithful members of First Baptist Church in Martin where they served faithfully for many years.  Ruby was known for her loving spirit and engaging smile and was loved by all.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.  She loved everyone.
