Tractor-Trailer Blocks Ramp in Martin, Multiple Agencies Respond

Posted

On Tuesday, August 27 around 9 a.m., a tractor-trailer overturned on the on-ramp going towards Dresden from Fulton in Martin. The ramp was completely blocked for close to four hours while Martin Police Department and Martin Fire Department worked to clear the area.

A traffic crash report from Martin Police Patrolman Samuel Anderson detailed that there was no collision with another vehicle. The driver, James Miller from Huntingdon was not injured in the accident. The truck is owned by Trick Hat of Trucking, Inc out of Milan.

Miller told Anderson that he was driving on the ramp and stopped in the turning lane to go left. When Miller started to turn, his load shifted causing the trailer to flip over. Anderson stated that the trailer was on its right side still connected to the truck and the truck was still upright on the road. The truck did not appear to have any damage, according to Anderson. The trailer did have damage to the front of the frame. Both the truck and the trailer were moved from the roadway and the area was clear by 1 p.m.
