The Weakley County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Reception, held at the Elks Lodge in Dresden Dec. 7 had an amazing turnout of people in attendance with over 100 people from the community attending the event.
The event was sponsored by Weakley County Municipal Electric Company, Wendall Alexander Realty, Brian & Camille Legons, City of Gleason, James Motor Company—Jonathan James, Gleason Lumber & Southern Supply Co., Inc., Simply Southern, Sound Design, RaeKar/C & B Linen, Bank of Gleason and Gleason City Drug.
Numerous door prizes were drawn during the ceremony which included four $25 gift cards from E.W. James, one $25 gift card from Shoe Shack Warehouse, seven flower arrangements and a gift bag from Gleason Flower Market & Gifts, a Golf bag with multiple swag items from Volunteer Distributing Company, a gift basket from RaeKar/C & B Linen, a $50 gift card from the Bank of Gleason, a gift basket and two baskets of sweet potatoes from Gleason Mayor Charles Anderson, three umbrellas from West Tennessee Public Utility District, a gift basket from Servall and a gift basket from UT Martin.

Class members will start January 4, 2024. Chamber Director Barbara Virgin stated, “Members will share a network experience with unique individuals who will shape the future of Weakley County. We will learn the importance of T.E.A.M. work, regionally and countywide.”
The Chamber Christmas reception was a wonderful event for all those in attendance. “Thanks to the City of Gleason Chamber Members for hosting such a fun 2023 Chamber Christmas Reception at the Dresden Elks Lodge. We had over 100 in attendance from our membership, community partners, and the 2024 Leadership Weakley County Class. Also, special thanks to our Chamber Staff Barbara Virgin and Angie Lassiter for planning, coordinating, and decorating the venue. It’s great to live and work in Weakley County and that was on display Thursday night,” CEO Justin Crice stated.
