A Weakley County man has been sentenced to just 90 days after being convicted in Weakley County Circuit Court for the sexual battery of his 11-year-old niece.
Dasheavon Chase McMullen was originally indicted by the May term of the Weakley County Grand Jury on four counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery, a Class B Felony in the State of Tennessee carrying a possible sentence of 8-30 years’ imprisonment; maximum fine of $25,000; community supervision for life.
During sentencing on August 26th in Judge Jeff Parham’s court, two of the four charges were dismissed and the other two charges were reduced from Aggravated Sexual Battery to Sexual Battery. Sexual Battery is a Class E Felony punishable by 1-6 years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines. McMullen pled guilty to two of the charges and on the first count was sentenced to serve two years with 90 days served in jail and 1 year 9 months’ probation.
McMullen reported to jail at the Weakley County Detention center on August 27 at 7 p.m. to start serving his sentence. For count 2, McMullen received 2 years’ probation upon completion of the 90 days in jail and running consecutive (one sentence after the other as opposed to both sentences running together at the same time) to count 1.
McMullen was represented by Dresden Attorney Paul Hutcherson.
