In a special-called meeting held June 29, the city of Sharon voted unanimously to hire a part-time certified Police Officer who currently works for the South Fulton Police Department. Colton Hutcheson previously worked 2nd shift at South Fulton PD but would be taking a position with Sharon PD to work 3rd shift. Officer Adam Ledezma spoke on the hiring of Colton stating that "he has good work ethics; he's always on time; he's reliable and a pretty good officer. He's an honest guy. He's worked about 10 years now."

Mayor Donna Stricklin said that his pay rate would be $15.75 an hour. Fire Chief Gary Eddings said that new uniforms would be needed.

Stricklin said that three people were interviewed for the city clerk position and she recommended Nichole Hicks. A motion was made, and Hicks was hired unanimously.
